Love this idea of developing positive anchors as a calm down technique in the classroom & to help strengthen self regulation and resilience in our students! 3 things that are important when creating an Anchor: 1. Intensity 2. Repetition 3. Uniqueness #SDG3 #educ4750 #uonteach

What Does Wellbeing Mean To You? | Nuffield Health youtu.be/oSIWo5nxF2A via @YouTube I think this is a great resource to introduce the term 'wellbeing' to Stage 3 students, and a great question to ask students! What does wellbeing mean to you? #uonteach #EDUC4750 #SDG3

Thank you for sharing @Miss_Thompson22! Just watched the teacher and student reviews on YouTube and #smilingminds sounds like an awesome program to introduce as a part of a daily routine in my #sgd3 unit of work with many benefits for both teachers & students! #uonteach #Educ4750

@KatFromOz Mindfulness is a great thing to incorporate into daily activities. Check out MindYeti, it provides videos for kids and adults that focus on mindfulness. I have found it really useful in the classroom for all stages. youtube.com/playlist?list=…

@Cait76128957 I think I would like to foster "voice". To have my students know they are heard and that their presence is worthy and wanted.

Wellbeing can be developed through a number of influences and experiences, these can include but are not limited to choice, achievement, relationships, enjoyment, personal growth, health and safety. What factors will you foster within your classroom and why? #UoNTeach #SDG3

@Cait76128957 I would use this as a reflective task and have students reflect on their own life and what support they have in their current school.

What a great lesson starter. youtube.com/watch?v=at2gAj… This video is able to show the varying perspectives of what education looks like around the world. As a teacher, how would you use this video in your classroom? Explore the location? Students? Activities? #UoNTeach #Educ4750

@Cait76128957 I would hope that through awareness comes change. Constant awareness though. Not just drips and draps. An awareness revolution!

p4hglobal.org/p4h-blog/2019/… Do you think it is hard to improve education in developing countries? The numbers of uneducated students & poor education are astronomically low, how can these numbers be brought to the world average. More awareness and assistance from society? #UoNTeach

@Cait76128957 @UNICEF Providing a space where they are trusted, secure and can be themselves in without fear of judgement would be a good start ❤️

@Cait76128957 When students have the confidence to speak up and be heard, their wellbeing and sense of sense can sky rocket. Even teachers speaking up and praising students is empowering and creates a domino effect!

Thanks for sharing this perspective Julia, I believe empowering students to believe in themselves, speak up about issues they are passionate about and take action when they are ready is the first step. As teacher's, we support student's in their thoughts and ideas every day.

The main goal of becoming global citizens is to take action toward globally significant issues (Mansilla & Jackson, 2011). How do you empower the students in your classrooms with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle the #SDGs? #UoNTeach #educ4750

@Cait76128957 My students will be creating kindness affirmation cards and giving these to a local aged care facility. Some people in our community need a little extra love every now and then.

As part of achieving mental wellbeing, we can connect with others and give to others. This is what students will be doing with my unit. Connecting with organisatons and giving essential access to human needs. What are some other ideas that students could do? #UoNTeach #Educ4750

@Cait76128957 I have seen the same, yet it is still falling short. I think our curriculum is just too busy with so much focus on English and Maths! Lets start a revolution together and change the current mindsets!

Through my research, I have found articles with the following titles: "Why Education Matters to Health", "Education for Health and Wellbeing", "How Education Can Impact Wellbeing". This highlights that education must be significant to our health and wellbeing. #SDG3 #UoNTeach
