@METUPUKorg This is what tumours in the soft tissue around the eye looks like and the eye swelling is what took me to the GP. I had lobular cancer in 2014 & was not aware that this is one of the symptoms of secondary lobular cancer & it was never mentioned by the GP either

Lobular breast cancer can behave very differently to other types of breast cancer - especially when it spreads. It can metastasise to less commonly recognised areas such as the gastrointestinal tract, ovaries, or even around the eyes, and its symptoms are often subtle, unfamiliar, or easily dismissed. This can make disease progression harder to recognise and delay vital treatment. Today, we’re sharing our lobular breast cancer infographics alongside our volunteer Helen’s story, in which she shares her experience of lobular breast cancer spreading around her eye - and why being familiar with the specific signs and symptoms is so important. Knowing the differences matters. Awareness saves time, and time matters. Please help us share this message. #METUPUK #SecondaryBreastCancer #DarkerPink #LobularBreastCancer

@bccww I always think of one of the METUPUK volunteers who has over 90 fractures across her skeleton before she was finally diagnosed metastatic 😞

Almost a year after meeting Ashley Dalton MP, on World Cancer Day 2025, we’re reminded of her strength, honesty and unwavering commitment to the MBC community. Living with metastatic breast cancer herself, Ashley uses her platform to push for patient‑centred policy and challenge outdated assumptions about what it means to live with incurable cancer. She embodies the “golden thread” of patient empowerment in the new National Cancer Plan and to us, she’s the ultimate modern poster girl for #busylivingwithmets.

@TicketmasterUK I am so incredibly angry and upset. I was sat in the Harry Styles album presale queue for 2 hours and I finally got through and it went to "Page not found" error and booted me away. Please make up for this. I'm so angry 😡😡😡😡 #HarryStyles #ticketmaster

@wesstreeting Always the case that people bundle in for “what about x disease…” instead of focussing on what this announcement is. A National cancer plan (which the tories removed) is a great step forward to get back to prioritising cancer. And written by @AshleyDalton_MP with stage 4 cancer

@wesstreeting I come from a rural and coastal village. I took my Dad to every appointment for his terminal cancer. We were only able to see an oncologist ~50% of the time due to chronic shortages of oncologists in the UK. Last year, you trained only 101 oncologists - you should be ashamed.

@wesstreeting You make it sound like it's something new that Labour have just invented. I was screened brilliantly by the NHS a couple of years ago under a Tory government. The service was swift and the staff and consultant were brilliant! If its not broken don't try to fix it!!

@DHSCgovuk @wesstreeting What I really care about is how will the amazing work getting towards actually having data on metastatic cancer patients be delivered. I’ve seen more action on this by NHS England than any other area or audit to date.

@AshleyDalton_MP @METUPUKorg Thank you so much @AshleyDalton_MP I know that Jo was committed to working on issues impacting patients. She also was very aware that you didn’t ask to become a figure head for the metastatic breast cancer community but we were so grateful when you amplified our voices ❤️💔

Devastated to hear the news that Jo Taylor, fierce campaigner and founder of @METUPUKorg died on Monday. Her loss will be felt across the metastatic breast cancer community and I personally will miss her passion, her challenge and her friendship. She was a force of nature.

We honour the extraordinary life and legacy of Jo Taylor - founder of METUPUK, campaigner, and tireless advocate for people living with Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC).  Jo was more than a campaigner; she was the very heart and soul of METUPUK. Through her courage, compassion, and unwavering determination, she changed the conversation around MBC - demanding better awareness, access to treatment, and equality for every patient. From leading ABCD retreats and supporting countless women through their diagnosis, to standing on national and international stages amplifying the voices of those too often unheard, Jo’s impact reached far beyond the UK. Her pioneering work inspired a movement for change, for progress, and for hope. #JoTaylor #METUPUK #LegacyOfChange #MetastaticBreastCancer #MBCAdvocate #Stage4NeedsMore #BreastCancerAwareness #METUPUKCampaign #InMemory #PatientAdvocacy #KeepTalkingMBC #HonouringJoTaylor #WomenWhoInspire

It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news that our beloved founder, Jo Taylor, died early on Monday morning surrounded by her husband Jeff, and two children, Regan and Faron.   Jo was a tireless advocate, a fearless campaigner and a beacon of hope for those living with metastatic breast cancer. Diagnosed with primary breast cancer in 2007 and with metastatic breast cancer in 2014, Jo dedicated her life to changing the narrative around MBC. She founded METUPUK and created the powerful #BusyLivingWithMets movement to show the world that people with MBC are living, thriving and worth the investment.    Jo’s legacy is one of courage and unwavering determination. Her work has touched countless lives both here in the UK and around the world. From her advocacy and public speaking to the creation of the red flag signs and symptoms infographics, she undoubtedly paved the way to empower others to find their voice.    She championed change with unwavering resolve and spoke with unflinching honesty. Jo’s voice lives on; her messages echo louder than ever: we demand change.    Our thoughts are with Jo’s family, friends, and the entire MBC community. She will be deeply missed and absolutely never forgotten.    She had the heart of a lioness. Rest in power, Jo 💔    #JoTaylor #METUPUK #LegacyOfChange #MetastaticBreastCancer #MBCAdvocate #Stage4NeedsMore #BreastCancerAwareness #METUPUKCampaign #InMemory #PatientAdvocacy #KeepTalkingMBC #HonouringJoTaylor #WomenWhoInspire #NeverStopFighting

Me, need to get a refund from @Argos_Online . Help link virtual bot which was no help. Use their X help site DMs “hi welcome to our virtual assistant” (the same useless FAQ pointer as before) Also the typo on the virtual bot made me chuckle. AI isn’t taking us over quite yet.
