Wonderful news finding out that (1) the GitProxy open source project, a data loss prevention (DLP) tool hosted by @FINOSFoundation; and (2) @Citi; were both shortlisted for the @openuk_uk Awards 2024 #Finance category. I'm super proud of everyone involved #OpenSource #communities

When asked if they have too many #tools, 40% of #remote employees said yes, compared with 14% of fully #office-based employees. This highlights the risk of overwhelming remote workers with excessive tools while trying to boost #productivity through #technology.

The Open Source Initiative (#OSI) proposed an #OpenSourceAI definition: It involves #AI systems that consist of components that can be examined & studied. It must also be possible to freely modify the systems for any purpose & share them with other users. #opensource

The big problem is that the majority of organizations who freely use #OpenSource projects don’t actively contribute back to them, either financially or through code commits. Instead, they request bug fixes or extensions, putting undue pressure on #maintainers to work without pay.
