TFW you smile about the tax day extension only to get a call saying your tax guy wants to stick to 4/15. *sigh* I understand he wants to get them done and out the way - but Jeeze. So Wed I start gathering up receipts and stuff. 😦

@ZoeYorkWrites @Mortimerwrites which is to say, things that are "standard" can easily be changed if they want to.

I want to be clear that: A. there is nothing wrong with charging a good amount for a robust workshop. B. Expertise costs money. But RWA chapters aren't rich, and cannot afford this.

@mel_thegreat I understand. But you also have to understand: I live in a town where there are literally (based on census data) 12 non-white people within a four-town radius. 6 are black, 3 are Asian. I haven't met the other 3. The only black dad I know is a great guy. This is my scope.

@authorMsBev @mel_thegreat I agree. But I think dads in general don't get enough respect, no matter their skin tone. My nephew had to fight for years to get custody of his daughter even though she was in a really awful situation with her mother. Like, strangers shooting drugs in the home's bathroom bad.

@authorMsBev I agree! I had a roommate who called me to pick her up at the airport and my car was in the shop. She'd left her keys. I was a little surprised I'd have to drive a stick. But I made it, even in six inches of Minneapolis snow.

@KateCordelia For us having the daughter learn was a safety issue. A young woman away at college should be able to drive both - just in case.

TFW you pull up to valet parking, but no one on duty can drive a stick so you have to valet yourself.

@authorMsBev @nadineewatson I learned to drive a stick because I was in college and a stick was cheaper than an automatic and you never know who's gonna end up the designated driver.

@nadineewatson Hubby and I made sure daughter could drive both when she entered college. If she needed to get away from monsters and stick was only vehicle available, she’d be good to go.

I ran a marathon in Nashville this past weekend. Now I can get on with the other items on my bucket list.

@authorMsBev @UPS I just got the safety shredder and a couple of little kids. But then I have to haul it to the trash myself.

Cleaning my office while finishing this book. Just learned @UPS now has shredding service. $3 a lb. Called to see if there’s a limit. No. No?! Can you see my smile?

Temps have been 60-70 all week. Snow predicted for Sunday. Need Winter to exit stage left.
