I am deadly serious about finding new people for this. This is a thriving little country pub, the hub of the village! People come to it from miles away. If you fancy running it, it’s going to be available- the whole setup is there, you just have to rock up and take over!

Up early to cook bacon rolls for after our 8am holy communion service. What an Easter it’s been so far. Family all coming round later today for big roast lamb dinner. Missed X in lent but not as much as I thought. Happy Easter to those celebrating. HE IS RISEN!

@Headteacherchat Only if you aren't expecting the 4 day teacher to plan for that day. And they only do 80% of the marking, parents evenings etc.

Anonymous query: If a teacher is on a four-day timetable, is it reasonable for an HLTA or cover supervisor to take the class on day five, given that all the lessons are already planned?

@Headteacherchat Kill them with kindness & be really nice Be your authentic self & don’t let them unduly influence your decisions. It happened to me. This is what I did, she was horrid to me. The more horrid she was, the nicer I was. Sometimes we did it her way, sometimes not . She left at Easter

Anon post: I’m stepping into a headship in September. The internal deputy applied too, didn’t get it, and it’s gone down badly. I want this to work, but the resistance is already showing. If you were appointed from outside: - How did you handle the fallout in those first weeks and months? - What genuinely rebuilt trust (and what backfired)? - What traps should I avoid when I need to lead decisively without coming across as tone-deaf? Practical, no-nonsense advice welcome.
