@GMB @susannareid100 My daughter is 33 years old and has a severe learning disability, she also displays Pica behaviour which has required surgery on 3 occasions to remove items from her stomach and save her life. The Challenging Behaviour Foundation has excellent information and support.

TW: Eating Disorders 'We are on high alert all the time' ＠susannareid100 and Richard are joined by Suzy Read, who lives in constant fear that her daughter Holly could die from a little-known and potentially life-threatening compulsion called PICA. 3-year-old Holly is driven to eat non-food items such as carpet, mud, rubber, and plastic. Clinical manager Umairah Malik also joins them from Beat - the UK’s eating disorder charity, which is calling for urgent national standards for PICA care.

Children with disabilities are being hurt behind policies that discriminate, too many are told to stay silent, while others cannot speak to tell. That doesn’t mean nothing happened! #HarrysLaw
