my alma mater did something similar a few years ago. While I don't want to diss these achievements it annoys me that they don't also recognise those who have achievements in other areas whether academically or work or community service.

BREAKING: Moments ago at the White House this took place. A bunch of old people praying for a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, who appears to have just blown up 100+ Iranian schoolchildren, while he hides the Epstein files, in which he appears in thousands of times. We are a joke.

@StuddertNatalie I don’t know how any of those experts reconcile their professional ethics with the shit that goes down on that program. So much toxic behaviour that’s being enabled

@StuddertNatalie That may be an indication that it’s not at the serious end of things… I got a call last week to say that a lesion was benign, and then four messages the next day that turned to be a correction that it wasn’t benign and I need to have more removed… 😒😕😖

Freaking out a little, actually a lot. I got a text message to say I’ve been referred to some gynaecologist/ oncology team for review, and to have a support person when they call this afternoon. 😬 hopefully nothing serious. 😩

@bj_stansfield Pretty disappointing that they took the line of apologising if the “offended” anyone. That’s not a real apology. That’s PR bullshit

@BigBadDenis So they’re basically blaming lockdowns, again. Maybe Covid itself had something to do with it?

@LucyCB_T @gasugasu1984 Could mean she feels hamstrung being a member of a party & therefore unable to speak out about policies she may disagree with. Or unable to enter into negotiations on her own behalf etc. That’s what being a party MP involves. Couldn’t tolerate that myself so can’t say I blame her

While renovating the kitchen in our old house in Trevallyn I discovered that the window sills were made of Huon pine. I salvaged a few pieces 18 years later I’ve carved a small dish out of this chunk as a b’day present for my son. Left the nail hole as a reminder of its origin 🔨

@HarrySpoelstra Interesting that risk of cardiovascular symptoms doesn’t appear to be lessened by vaccination

Estimating risk of long COVID using a Bayesian network-based decision support tool 🤔Do you want to know your LC and other C19 risks?( Great Australian work!)👇 ➡️"Vaccination, receiving drug treatment within three days of acute infection, and avoiding repeated infections are the greatest modifiable influences of long COVID development, decreasing risk by up to 63 % under modelled scenarios." ➡️Here an "interactive user-friendly web-based decision support tool : corical.immunisationcoalition.org.au/longcovid enabling easy access to model outputs, and allows individuals to calculate their personalised probability of long COVID under different scenarios of modifiable risk factors." ➡️"The decision-support tool can be used by individuals or in conjunction with clinicians for shared decision-making on vaccination, pursuing early drug treatment during acute infection, and continuing protective behaviors such as masking and social distancing." ➡️"The model can also generate population-level estimates of outcomes to assist public health decision-makers to design better-informed public health policies." ‼️Sit down.......and take the test...... ooooooeps!!. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

⚠️Australia 🇦🇺 is experiencing the most prolonged flu season on record, stretching well into the summer. It has broke all records: ✴️481502 cases so far. ✴️More than DOUBLE the highest previous monthly influenza cases in September, October, November, and December this year. ✴️I’m still admitting patients with flu in December, this is unprecedented IMO, ✴️This is due to the mutant H3N2 virus (subclade K) that is sweeping the world. ✴️The US 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦, as well as much of Europe are in for the worst antigenic drift seasonal Flu in decades. ✴️Get the jab. immunisationcoalition.org.au/wp-content/upl…
