Excited to share that my F31 is funded through @NICHD_NIH! I’m collecting data to assess mediators of longitudinal associations between multimethod indicators of maternal and child emotion regulation. I’ll also examine mother-child RSA synchrony in emotion socialization contexts!

Taking care of #parents is taking care of the whole family, and parents' mental health (which is the same as their health) deserves our full and prioritized financial and policy attention. I'm ecstatic to see the US Surgeon General saying the same thing. hhs.gov/surgeongeneral…

Future research should also consider dynamic, dyadic mechanisms of emotion socialization, and person-centered analytic approaches. Parental executive function and effortful control should be considered too, since most of the identified studies assessed emotion regulation (5/5)

Given that much of the research on this topic focuses on mothers, WEIRD samples, and individuals who have not experienced adversity/psychopathology, it is essential to expand this research to understudied and underrepresented parents, and consider moderators (4/5)

Led by Tracy Preko, our new meta-analysis examining overgeneral memory valence effects in children and adolescents is out in RCAP! We found there was a higher frequency of overgeneral responses to negative cue words than positive cue words. Read more here: link.springer.com/article/10.100…
