My notes on modern marketing after reading 'Marketing in the (Great, Big, Messy) Real World' book by Kathleen Schaub. The trick is to turn the modern marketing landscape’s unpredictability into a strategic advantage and that can be achieved only when you stop treating marketing like a machine, a machine with guaranteed outputs. Thanks to Kathleen Schaub for this gift to the (marketing) mankind! THE WAY WE USED TO CONNECT DOTS DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE AS TURF HAS CHANGED. A LOT MORE NEW VARIABLES HAVE BEEN ADDED, ONLY FEW HAVE BEEN REMOVED - THE EQUATION IS COMPLEX. I strongly believe that new mediums (of information dispersement) are conductive to modern marketing, marketing which puts education front-center. Also the way we teach marketing in schools/universities has to evolve, the term campaign needs to go to the dry cleaner, it has been made dirty over the years.
