Social work has been feeling awfully heavy recently. Trying to find the small wins and positive outcomes but they’re few & far between! A few days off is definitely needed 😂😅

Today has been a hard day with a tricky mix of super complex safeguarding enquiries coming through, and absolutely ridiculous ones that make you question other people’s decision making 😅. Feeling very drained & struggling at the moment.

A national strategy would align social care, healthcare, and housing policy, writes Kathryn Smith OBE, Chief Executive of SCIE, in her opinion piece published in Local Government Chronicle: lgcplus.com/services/healt…

Can confirm that I absolutely loved the BIA course & I was nervous for no reason (as always😂). It was great being back in the uni environment and learning again. Feeling somewhat confident about the take-home exam & Form 3 but we’ll see if I’m still saying that next week🤭

It hasn’t quite been 6 months but I’m back with an update! I start the BIA course tomorrow and I’m so nervous 😬🤭. Kinda excited to be learning again but anxious about literally everything else

- I’m considering the BIA course - I would love to do a research degree to look deeper into how Social Workers / Resource Officers use humour in their work See you in 6 months! I’m always lurking here but don’t post too often😂

- I still want to do my PEPS ASAP but need to wait until I’m 3 years qualified (Sept 2025) -team dynamics are proving difficult at times but we’re working through it - I’m definitely feeling more autonomous in my work - I still love my job for the most part

6 monthly update for you! - I’m now the main safeguarding officer for the team and doing much less long term work which is a welcome change - safeguarding is unbelievably busy and I’m forever impressed at some vulnerable people’s resilience when faced with some scary situations
