Spent a very welcome day away from the office on Friday celebrating 30 years of @thecucr . A moving and thought provoking day with talks, walks and a wonderful exhibition. I studied and worked with the CUCR over 10 years ago now but somehow it still feels like an academic home ✨

While it is possible for acts of allyship to result in ‘non-performativity’ (to use @SaraNAhmed’s term), I argue supporting spaces for dialogue that enable a recognition of power-geometries and structural inequalities are crucial to create and sustain everyday forms of equality.

If you happen to be in London visit UCL or SOAS university and their encampments that are in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza. There are other encampments set up around the UK that are also calling for their universities to divest.

What a response by students and staff. Literally driving cops off campus a night after they brutally erased a peaceful encampment demanding divestment and boycott from Israel
