1. @PunjabPoliceInd personnel in large number raided house of Journalist Harsharan Kaur’s parental house at 5 am. 2. Police surrounded the house and told family that they need custody of Harsharan Kaur but did not show any warrant or document. 3. As Harsharan Kaur was recently married she was not at her parental home. For the time being she is not in police custody but her freedom is under apprehension. 4. Notably, police is blocking, interrogating, taking into custody and even detaining and arresting journalists.

Indian authorities must stop using overbroad reasons like those of 'public safety' to impose internet shutdowns over millions of people. Authorities in Punjab must immediately restore internet access in all districts.

Overbroad censorship and internet shutdowns are a violation of the rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly. According to @accessnow India has had the highest number of internet shutdowns for 5 years in a row.
