The Sikh community has been speaking out about these men from our Muslim community who target young girls in their community. . Keep an eye out for this on Twitter, this is EXACTLY how they do it, I see it in action all the time. We need to stop making this behavior acceptable.

On one hand we have our own system of ethics and guru led maryada that we “should” follow, but on the other hand “the police have looked into it.” Yet when a girl goes missing from her home, every sikh org screams “protect our girls….” Where are the screams now?

@KaurVoices By interfering with the Police investigation, we risk jeopardising the conviction we need against the perpetrators. If the evil men involved in every area of this, were approached it would be tantamount to witness intimidation, resulting in the case being chucked out.

Yes. That’s 3 years these females have been languishing in this trauma just like we still live through the trauma of our ithihaas. Justice is never ever bound by time.

@A_W_M_B What?! Moved them?! Why?! Why are we protecting them. If there is a pervert at my local Gurudwara, I want to know. And tbh, i don't want him to be a Granthi there! There needs to be a register like the medical council where they can also be struck off from being a Granthi!

My understanding is that they moved the Granthi’s (2 of them involved) to other Gurdwara. Question: would you want to know if they were at your Gurdwara? How do you know they are not? Why are they being protected? They took part in sexual acts in a GURDWARA!

Beyond shocked that this happened and no action has been taken by the Gurdwara or the Sangat. All the Singhs that protest at mixed faith marriages where you at now? This is a disgrace.

This is exactly why we are working on a policy/platform which ensures that we don’t allow such abusers back into sikh spaces. Transparency for all means protection for all.

The uproar and sense of injustice we express when men from outside of the kaum infiltrate and abuse women from within our kaum is powerful. But where’s the same uproar when it’s men on the inside attacking from the inside.... We need everyone to speak up. We need it to change.
