So many beautiful points raised here…
Junior Rodigan@JuniorRodigan

For DECADES, the REGGAE that got played inside a Dancehall session was mostly songs that were on familiar STUDIO ONE riddims, revamped by a new label. The greats like Junjo Laws, George Phang, Sly & Robbie, Bobby Digital, Jammys, Penthouse and Xterminator gave us 100's of classics over a 20 year span using this formula . There was good mix of Roots and Lover's Rock songs from artists who are now icons and even one hit wonders. Timeless. Things changed a bit in the mid -late 2000's as we now had new producers creating massive hit riddims like DROP LEAF and SEASONS by @doncorleonie and CARDIAC series by @ZjChrome fueled by massive modern classic by the likes of CURE, @Iamchrismartin @RealRomainVirgo even @busysignal and @iamthekartel plus superb songwriters like @1RichieSpice , I WAYNE and Pressure @Busspipe made songs every Hip Hop fan knew as well The 2010's saw WINTA JAMES drop the classic MILITANCY riddim which made everyone remember the names @ChronixxMusic @JesseRoyal1 @Jah9 and some German producers also gave us classics as well After that the music has leaned heavily on SINGLES on original tracks - which take more time to become familiar with, since the riddim is not old, nor does it have other chune on it. Older selectors were never wired for this. Plus their laptops made them lazy AF. Young selectors didn't even bother to do some work and pick some favorites and champion those - thereby giving THEMSLEVES a personality as a selector. They stuck to the hype - which ended up being trap and some gal chune. Reggae artists never gave up tho. Especially those who were multi talented as both singers and DJ's. They didn't bend or compromise their principles to make what would bring dem quick money or fame. Many females also emerged as the 2010's were closing with very good voices, songs and albums/EPS. Most got ignored unless they sang about sex and/or used trap beats. Reggae never dies. Never will The term REGGAE REVIVAL is a disrespect to anyone who ever made reggae before and does now. Some selectors abandoned it. By choice. The music is there. Go listen. A brilliant new album called SUPER NOVA by @Runkusinno came out on Friday MAY 1st. This album is unlike anything you have ever heard before from a West Indian artist. It's very creative AND familiar at the same time. Another great album is dropping on May 15 by @RasI_Musique But there is very good Reggae out right now .. just go listen to the latest by @jahlilmusicja @jazeliseJA @officialyaksta @KumarFyah @1Randyvalentine @MediSunMusic1 @ZamundaMusic3 Imagine if producers get inspired by WYFL and HILL and GULLY and bring back some vinatge STUDIO ONE !! Imagine if BUJU and @SupaDups decide to voice more artists on the REAL ROCK riddim that has the new hit chune BUTTERFLIES by Gargamel. It's gonna happen. And when it does, you're all gonna realize how powerful Reggae can be. The world needs this music. Always has. Always will. Ignore the noise. The message in Roots Reggae is never gonna change.

I was there yo looool Footah Hype and Matterhorn clash outta limelight. You sure none a dem get paid .. because that would be crazy to put on a whole show outta pocket. If I remember right all Guinness was involved in it
Sound Chat Radio@IrishandChin

Like that time Diddy came to Jamaica and within less than 24 hrs they organized a sound clash for him and Cassie to experience. So many ran with the notion how this will be great for sound clashing and big tings are ahead, anyway that was 2013. Top selectors lined up for free🤷🏽‍♂️

@beemillmckie @JamaicaObserver Possibly consumer affairs? Idk.. but I think it unconscionable to be paying for a service I cannot consistently receive. Often after you’ve paid your bill the signal falls and that’s for regular cell service, data and home internet for both service providers.

@JamaicaObserver To what end? The OUR will investigate and either find nothing wrong or say "naughty, naughty - don't do it again". Absolutely no punishment will be applied to the phone companies and no refund will be given to customers who continue to pay for services they are not receiving.

Everytime there is a major incident of bullying, pearls are clutched and calls are made. And then NOTHING happens. The Ministry of Education continues to be one of the most ineffective in terms of policy development and implementation. And lives are ruined and lost in the process
