I believe that the startup feel at Peppercomm will maximize my summer internship experience, allowing me to gain super hands-on experience that I otherwise may not have at a bigger firm. I know that I would excel in this role, in terms of skills, experience, and personality.

Take a peek at this interesting article on The Conversation.. the effects of the Australian bushfires are all-encompassing — smoke from the fires are circulating the globe, yet little effort has been put forth by the govt to stop it #MarEnvS20 theconversation.com/australias-bus…

Marine Fest was a success! My group and I presented on the environmental impact of artificial land creation utilized for a variety of different needs depending on the country or region. Some examples: Palm Jumeirah, Subi Reef, & The World Islands. #MarEnvS20

There are water refill stations all over the UNSW campus and you can find them also at most public spaces/beaches! There is no excuse not to stop using single-use plastic bottles and use a reusable bottle instead. #keephydrated #marenvs20

Check out this Dwarf cushion star spotted today at Maroubra Beach ⭐️ you can also see a few herbivorous snails including Austrocochlea, Nerita & Bembicium, as well as Neptune’s Necklace (a brown alga) in the upper left hand corner #MarEnvS20

I loved our field trip today to Maroubra! Sad to see all the trash, but I also made sure to pick up some bottles and plastic bags I saw on the ground by the sand dune vegetation. I learned that the vegetation in the dunes helps hold the sand dunes in place! #marenvs20

At our field trip today we made sure to pick up trash when we saw it. Small steps to take in order to protect and maintain a healthy environment for marine life. #marenvs20

Make sure to buy sustainable detergent!!!! Using non sustainable detergents increases the micro plastics in our oceans. Susbstitute your detergent for a natural and sustainable one!!! Thanks @macabrera30 for buying this for our apartment #marenvs20 💧

What a day yesterday at Bondi Beach! Bondi Beach is just one Australian beach protected by shark nets. Shark nets however have had a 63% failure rate and often kill sharks rather than simply decrease interaction b/w humans and sharks. #MarEnvS20

One main difference is that the leopard seal has a mesh structure inside its nose which keeps moisture and water within the seal’s bloodstream that they would otherwise lose! #MarEnvS20

We had a pretty hands-on class on Tuesday, examining the skulls of a variety of marine and terrestrial animals, including this baby leopard seal (left) and lion (right). Can you spot the differences between the two? #MarEnvS20

@UnswWater @ralvarezpa @UNSWScience @CES_UNSW @smh To make matters worse, it seems as if there’s no hope to repopulate these areas as climate change and these additional factors persist. This is just one example of an Australian species driven to the brink of extinction due to climate change #MarEnvS20

@UnswWater @ralvarezpa @UNSWScience @CES_UNSW @smh Really sad study conducted by researchers on potential platypus extinction due to a number of factors including dam building, land clearing (which leads to bank erosion), drought, the recent heat wave & wildfires, predators, and lack of water #MarEnvS20
