NYCFC’s new Sporting Director and former USMNT player Todd Dunivant believes the club’s new stadium in NYC will be a “recruiting tool like no other,” allowing the club to attract big-name players.
He also speaks about the stadium being the team’s fortress 🗣️
“We have to kick on and make it a place that is a great place to watch a game, but a horrible place if you’re on the opposing team,” Dunivant said.
“It gave me chills. It’s very steep. You can already tell how on top of the action everyone is going to be.”
“It’s almost striking how steep it is. It’s going to be incredible.”
The 25,000-seater stadium will be the first soccer-specific stadium in NYC and will be located across the street from the Citi Field.
It is set to open in the 2027 summer.

After a two-year battle with cancer, Ilona Löwen passed away this morning, March 9, 2026. We grieve alongside Edu and all those impacted by this loss and ask the CITY community to keep them in your prayers during this difficult time. Ilona was a beautiful example of love, humility, and kindness and will be deeply missed. A message from the Löwen’s Pastor, Marc Sikma: Edu and Ilona built their life on faith in Christ, and we find comfort in knowing Ilona’s suffering is over and that she is now in the eternal presence of her Savior.
