I innocently wandered into lincraft for their 40% sale. Pretty sure I was mugged between the fabric isle and the lace isle and that's why I have 2 new craft projects and less money....

On the way back from the in-laws, we stopped for gas and I got the ONLY TWO types of beef jerky that are made without brown sugar. Taste tests reveal they are both delicious and brown sugar in beef jerky is still absolute garbage.

@EmmaXStories my first time having it I was like 26, the aldi had a bunch of it in stock and it was basically flavoured milk. It definitely tasted better cold. It's super american thing, so I think those of us in the tiny rest of the world mostly havent had it

Im at that point in my novel where I am excited about it, but also wanting it to be finished, like, magically done so I can read it. Only the magic is me typing to that point and I'm confused

Are you depressed and microwaving chips, or because microwave chips make you depressed?

@KyraMNelson I think it depends on what you expect and want from writing as to whether it is time to quit. If the dream is to be supported financially by your writing, or just to get your books out into the world? And if achieving that dream is more important that the creative journey there?

I haven't stopped thinking about this thread since Aimee posted. In particular when people with a foot in the door promise it will be worth it. Because I just can't imagine it will ever be worth this.

Sick. I’m so sick. Throwing up blood. It’s not sustainable. But if I just GET THERE, right? How can I not GET THERE? Everyone else on this fucking app is getting there. Full request, full request, full request. Vague tweet, vague tweet, vague tweet. I just have to work HARDER.

@Katleen_A_Cooke It is, a lot of authors feel the need to "defend" against bad reviews. It usually doesn't do any good for the book. A "thank you for the review" is fine, but nothing more or just ignoring bad comments is best.

#writingtip don't reply to reviews. Good or bad. Just stay out of the reviews of your book. That space is not for you, its for readers. This has been said so much, but yikes, it still happens.

@DFR_Author I think its a desire to be "right" or correct someone who doesn't agree with them.

@TheCleftonTwain I got told to do it when I was a teen writing fanfic- as it engages the fanfic readers and ups reviews, but I always felt it was better not to, maybe I just read early advice and took it to heart

@Kchildswriter I did it once when I'd first published The Call of Chaos, but with the intention of letting the reviewer know I was fixing the problems they found (typos and such). After a while (after I republished it), I deleted my comments.
