I think a deal like this makes sense considering De Ligt / Lisandro can’t be relied upon for minutes & Maguire + Lisandro have 12 months of their contracts left.
Bring in another capable body to cope with Cup Runs & CL football while assessing the long term future of the CB’s.

Yeah agreed, like if we were paying, even £30m for him, I’d not be in favor of it but with our situation:
- De Ligt might be fully done, back injuries are extremely serious / have to be cautious.
- Lisandro major knee injuries & contract expires in 12 months.
- Maguire extended but acceptance it could be his final season
- Heaven & Yoro we all have high hopes for but they could find themselves 2nd/3rd choices if Lisandro & MDL keep having issues which isn’t really fair on them
For free? Just makes sense considering we’re going from 40 games to hopefully 60 games next season.

Do think we’re being used for a new deal/better contract elsewhere but for €30M or wtv, he’d be one of our best value for money signings post Fergie. His ballplaying is obscene. Need someone like him to fill that Lisandro sized hole at the back, also a better defender.
