If you ever wonder why people aren't tripping over themselves to invest and employ in South Africa, here's a nice example.
A "role boundary" is something that should only exist in a contract, which might include "etc." after one's list of roles. Instead, Steers is worried about "labour law".
Employers should feel entirely free to ask their staff to do some things, as they arise, that are necessary for the business, without wondering about whether the state approves.

@Martin_ASFL Typical coloniser exploitation mentality. When you’re employed in a role and there is a clause ‘other tasks’ it means those associated with your role. I.e. if you’re doing admin they may ask you to cover the phones. It does NOT mean you change roles completely. Chef to Gardener?
