Anyone who knows me well knows that I love The West Wing. I’ve watched it more than I should admit (sorry @TravisTBurton ). Of course the politics are interesting, it’s written beautifully and the acting is great. Sure, things are romanticized and there are probably too many happy endings. But the cast also tackled real challenges and faced insurmountable odds. It was after reading What’s Next that I realized exactly why I love the show so much. This book goes way behind the scenes and in depth about the cast, the crew and the writers. It highlights the staff in The West Wing more than the President, humble people doing all they can to make their country better. Just like the amazing people I get to work with everyday. Ordinary folks doing extraordinary things. I’ve always said I work alongside the best team in the state. Reading this book made me appreciate them even more than I already did. I hope our community knows just how special they are! The other pic if the rest of the months reading…

About to take the stage in the Cincy suburb, where JD Vance is actually from. This doesn’t appear to be where his book full of poverty tourism and tired stereotypes against my people is set.

Anthropic's head of AI safety just resigned, warning that "our wisdom must grow in equal measure to our capacity to affect the world." He's right. But wisdom requires knowing what we're wise for. 🧵

I’ve been in Congress long enough to remember when Republicans said we would repeal Obamacare.

In case you missed it, Republicans resorted to socialism this week to keep power plants open. The law, which passed the House without my vote, forces private companies to keep unprofitable plants in operation while the government subsidizes their losses. weku.org/the-commonweal…

This is the impact of Trump's big ugly bill. We should be focused on the future, but his short-sighted attack on clean energy has made it too expensive. And Kentucky workers are paying for it. bit.ly/4j1jbXq
