Brutal reality of our world is that the level of global concern with what happens in your nation is almost directly proportional to your nation's relevance to the global economy.
If you're a major link in the global supply chain and a war in your area significantly affects international economic activity or prices, other nations are concerned because it affects their economies and citizens.
The world was/is concerned with the Russia-Ukraine conflict not just because Ukraine is in Europe but because that war has affected food, gas prices et al.
Hundreds of thousands of people have died in Yemen since their civil war started in 2014; the world has barely noticed. Such a thing would never be allowed to happen in Saudi Arabia because it is such a major oil supplier that a war there would likely push oil to $150-$200 a barrel. Which would be catastrophic for many economies, including those of powerful nations.
If you're not a strategically important link in the global economy, people can be slaughtered till thy kingdom come in your country and aside humanitarian organizations, the rest of the world won't be too bothered.
Africa as a whole currently accounts for just 3% of global GDP and global trade.
Aside the cobalt reserves of the DRC, no African country possesses a vital commodity to such an amount that it could not be easily replaced as a supplier with somewhere else. And somehow, the world has found a way to still get the cobalt from the DRC anyway despite on and off conflicts there. As long as it can do that......
As for the global manufacturing chain, Africa is a completely marginal actor unlike say, Asia. Sudan is not seen to matter much to global economic activity.
Until African nations become strategically relevant to the global economy, conflicts and wars in Africa will remain ignorable. As heart-breaking as that is.
OK Then@okaythenfuture
Sudan's war started around April this year and its now September, a near half year later and it shows no end of stopping. - 5 million have been displaced - 1.2 million have fled, mostly to Egypt/Chad/South Sudan - 10,000 killed so far. - ABSOLUTELY NO ONE CARES. The NGMI war.
