I finally caught the most talked-about Bollywood film of the year: #Dhurandhar2. Having watched the first installment on Netflix, I’m so glad I opted for the theatrical experience this time—it absolutely demands the big screen. The movie belongs entirely to Ranveer Singh, backed by a rock-solid supporting cast. It’s a bold claim, but I actually found Part 2 superior to the original. This sequel is destined for cult status and further solidifies Ranveer’s position at the top. It’s safe to say that in Bollywood right now, there’s Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor, and then there’s everyone else. Clocking in at nearly four hours, there are a couple of scenes that could be interpreted as political propaganda, but that’s par for the course in this genre. I’d compare Aditya Dhar’s masterpiece to Steven Spielberg’s 2005 classic, Munich. Both are gripping “true-event” thrillers infused with fictional characters—easily my favorite genre. If you’re a Bollywood addict, this is a must-watch. A massive thumbs up to the duo of the hour: director #AdityaDhar and the powerhouse #RanveerSingh. #DhurandharTheRevenge
