@JUCOadvocate Exactly. I think the sweet spot for a lot of programs going forward is going to get a 2-3 person front office that can organize and handle everything 24/7/365. Smaller programs just need 1. Need to free up these coaches to do what they do best

Counterpoint Coach.... In the NBA, the elite stars generally account for 33-38% of the team's overall budget. A $3mil PG would account for a little under 38% of you $8mil budget. If that PG is an all league, conference POY candidate, that 38% might be worth it for you.

Some insight into the upcoming NIL market for transfers from a high-major coach: “The point guards I’m hearing, someone told me one is expecting $3 million. Our budget this year was right at $8 million. If we pay one guy $3 million, we can’t put together a roster.” Obviously, the asking price doesn’t always reflect what the schools actually agree to pay, but still worth noting.

I think a "GM" in college hoops can be a number of things depending on the head coach and staff strengths. But personally, I'd want someone overseeing a scouting operation (high school, sure, but especially ID-ing transfer targets who FIT) + payroll management + player retention.
