As Bearcats, we won't watch helplessly as others ignore social distancing and jeopardize our school year. We must advocate for people to make the right choice.

Nodaway County health department announces 49 #COVID19 cases

Our View: Cases of COVID-19 are spiking in and around Maryville. People seem to have gotten tired of following proper guidelines. Those people are making the pandemic worse for everyone, not just themselves. bit.ly/32C61Kl

COVID-19 isn’t slowing down in Nodaway county. 42 positive cases in one day marks the third highest single day spike since Aug.30, when the county reported 46 in one day. The seven day average sits at 17.

The Nodaway County Health Dept. reported 34 new COVID-19 cases in the county yesterday, the highest single-day total since Aug. 31. Still unclear how many of those new cases involve Northwest staff or students, though 18 of the 34 are between the ages of 10-29 years old.
