🇿🇦My Government, a large group of black people, and many people across the world feel that we are not really allowed to own farmland as a boer (white farmer), and we are called ‘settlers’ by politicians, and not South Africans, because we are white, although we are here for 371 years. Today I share an old letter I have, written by my Great Grandfather PS Coetzer born April 14 1887. He was 12 years old at that time. I translated it to English for you. Here are a few verses from when they were caught and sent by boats to concentration camps. “...... the journey to Bermudas, via St Vincent vd Cape Verda took 31 days, 7000 miles. 29 men died in the time on our boat, and are buried in the sea. On the island, a total of 7000 prisoners of war were held on 7 islands, 7 men in one round tent.” "The Peace of Association brought more tears than joy. This was especially the case when we learned that the Oath of Allegiance to King Edward Vill and his successors had to be signed before you would be allowed to return home. My Father and 70 others out of the 7000 refused to sign the oath. He said I had to sign and go take care of my mother's other children. The oath would not be binding, because I was a minor. I signed it, but wrote my last name with an 's' instead of a 'z'. Late in the afternoon, on the 27th day of our cruise, we arrived in Table Bay. I went to Mafikeng by train, with the suspicion of meeting my Mother there. On the farm I found them, between black-burned walls on which blackened corrugated sheets that once served as a roof. It was September 1902.” In these concentration camps, under abhorrent conditions, 4177 women, 22 074 children under sixteen and 1 676 men died. Today there is about 2.8 -3.5 million Afrikaners. How’s that for white privilege? #ExpropriationWithoutCompensation

@Tamarindos9 Literally LOLing at: “… briefly discussed Serena’s retirement, then the conversation moved back to being extremely boring, as opposed to just the normal level of boring I was expecting.” 🤣🤣🤣

@IvankaTrump It was because of your Dad, right. He created AI and then funded DeepMind which he sold to Google. It’s part of his space program efforts to get to mars which he flipped for covid relief. All before he leaves the WH coz he won the election. Extraordinary. Love you sweetie 💋

@SmallHotChilli @IvankaTrump Indeed. The world IS watching very closely. And so far, we see no evidence of voter fraud whatsoever 🤷🏼‍♀️ And this is Africa... trust me, if anyone can recognize a political coup or a stolen election from 10 000 miles away, it’s us 🙄

Every legally cast vote should be counted. Every illegally cast vote should not. This should not be controversial. This is not a partisan statement — free and fair elections are the foundation of our democracy. 🇺🇸

@z_Sin8 @Wonder_and_Live @Anele @WandiileNkovu Yes, I DO blame every man, unfortunately. Because even men who don’t engage in gender-based violence, do very little to TRULY condemn & call out those who DO. How often do you & your buddies talk about rape culture? What are your feelings about the “Me Too” movement? Be honest.

@z_Sin8 @Wonder_and_Live @Anele @WandiileNkovu Missing the point. Instead of nitpicking about numbers or shooting the messenger, why don’t all SA men who feel so deeply insulted at being associated with rapists, do something about the rapists among them, then? THEY are making you look like trash, not those reporting on GBV.

Friend of mine died today. He was killed in a car accident when a vehicle rolled thru a 4 way stop. Doctors tried valiantly to save him but just couldn’t. His name was Michael Owens and he was just 37 years old. He was brilliant and kind and funny and super talented.
