A “Trump Victory” in Greenland Yesterday at the Davos summit, Trump and Rutte seemed to make a breakthrough in a Greenland deal. NATO’s secretary general managed to calm Trump down by promising him mountains of things, which our manipulator gladly bought into and slightly toned down his radical stance. According to statements from the sides, they reached some initial understandings on the issue. It appears that Trump is no longer claiming Greenland’s sovereignty, and the discussion is now only about military presence, military bases, and a “golden dome” aimed against Russia and China in the Arctic region. Trump presented a “defeat” as a victory, which I find amusing. Denmark made no statements in response at all; moreover, they categorically rule out any transfer of even a part of sovereignty over this territory. What this circus initiated by Trump was for is unclear. In essence, nothing has changed: NATO and U.S. forces will continue to be on the island, building military bases and a “dome” without harming Greenland’s sovereignty. The market “US acquire part of Greenland in 2026” is heavily overheated after the ambiguous statements. I’m starting to buy the NO position at a sweet price of 66c. I currently see no prospects for the loss of any territory whatsoever.
