1980’s Cruise Ship Photographer, and a dash on this day 5th March 1987 to board the excursion coach for a trip around Palermo/Sicily.

Cadiz, Malaga & Barcelona on successive days as we head to Genoa to offload, and load, a new group of passengers for what promises to be a bit of a culture tour looking at the itinerary. MV Belorussiya full to the brim for this one.

On this very day in 1987 and the Belorussiya alongside in #Lisbon. Plenty of time ashore as my darkroom ‘skills’ on board, the processing & printing of 15 rolls or so of 35mm negative film from the latest shoot completed in a couple of hours.

On this day March 23rd in 1987 and a return visit on my time as a cruise photographer to #Casablanca. Full day ashore to stretch my legs and send a pc home.

On this day 20th March 1987 and terra firma ahoy as my ship the Belorussiya heads toward Genoa at the end of another cruise. Time to take delivery of film and chemicals in readiness for what looks like a pleasant 14 day itinerary ahead.

39 years ago and working aboard the MV Belorussiya cruise ship, and these current pax must love the blue desert! Of this 24 day cruise, 14 were at sea, so a welcome skip ashore for the day before sailing for another 3 heading to Genoa.Happy sunny memories.

On this day in 1987 and some final photographs of #Rio before heading to #Recife and Fernando de Norrona ahead of four days crossing the Atlantic to #Dakar. Some wonderful memories of South America.

4th Feb in 1987 and with the ship docked in Rio, time for more wandering around this stunning City. A visit to #Tijuca national Park, a cable ride to #SugarLoaf and a wander along #Copacabana beach, wearing the customary ‘Brit abroad’ white socks!!

On this day in 1987 and another day drinking in the magic of #Rio de Janeiro. At the Christ the Redeemer statue, with spectacular views of #Sugarloaf Mountain from one side and the magnificent #Maracana stadium from the other. A highlight of my visit to #Brazil

On this day Feb.2nd 1987 and working as a photographer on cruise ships having a magical day in #Rio during carnival. Fellow photographer Hugh and myself at the base of the stunning Christ the Redeemer statue and #Sugarloaf Great day.

Friday 27th of February and on this day in 1987 aboard the MV Belorussiya for the first of two days at sea heading back to #Rio for another four days of the carnival. Time on board to party and to join the oldies for some deck pitch and putt!

On this day, February 26th 1987 and visiting #Buenos Aires during free time on the ship. I recall being advised by the purser on board to keep a relative low profile. The Falklands war had finished in 1982, diplomatic relations with the UK still didn’t exist. Lovely city.

Employed as a photographer on this day in 1987 and the start of a new cruise, passengers having flown in from Germany and joining the ship today. Setting sail for #Buenos Aires later today with a full ship, good for business.
