@Keithgr09436929 I’m saying if we had a on par or faster car, we know what Lando does when he has clear air.

Now that I think about it, Norris not being able to check out from 1st place early in the race is a sign we are still behind race pace wise. A 2nd in Japan’s and a 2/3 after being nowhere in the first 2 races is a huge achievement. Lando and Oscar are on top top form
McLaren Fan TV@mclarenfantv

Both McLaren drivers are performing at a high level, just need to sort the reliability and need a bit more car performance so we can kick start both their seasons. I’m sure both Lando and Oscar will win races this year

@Crackite1 @F1_driven Rob marshall has been an unbelievable signing for mclaren...credit aswell must go to andreas seidl...way back he said mclaren needed to back to mercedes engines and build a new wind tunnel and simulator..which is paying dividends now...

@F1_driven Mclaren have same engine but better aerodynamic engineers. So was always going to be time before they caught up with them and now they have.

It's pretty clear to me that Merc are not optimised because there's no way they lost this much to certain teams But wow Mclaren, they're straight back to the top, that's insane. That engineering team really are no joke

@wearetherace Yeah, it’s a bold play—but that’s Zak Brown’s brand in F1. He’s basically calling out Mercedes (McLaren’s current engine supplier) for the price and value of their power‑unit‑and‑gearbox deal, while also throwing shade at the wider engine‑supply setup in the sport.

@Keithgr09436929 @ThisIsFormu1a1 Like I said there will is always a way of cutting a contract short, especially if McLaren don't think Merc are being fair and upholding there end of the partnership. It is early days in this era but I think you are wrong thinking we can't cut it short.

🚨| Why doesn't McLaren just build its own F1 engine: — McLaren faced a challenging situation at the Chinese Grand Prix with both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri unable to start the race. This has led to speculation about McLaren's future with Mercedes. Speaking to media, a team representative noted: “We are evaluating all options to ensure competitive performance in future races.” — The team's dissatisfaction with its current setup has sparked discussions about potentially developing its own power unit. Reflecting on this possibility, a spokesperson mentioned: “McLaren Powertrains could be a reality if it aligns with our long-term goals.” — Ron Dennis, former McLaren team principal, had previously emphasized the importance of having a works engine partner for championship success. He once remarked: “A team doesn't tend to enjoy the same level of success when its status is downgraded from power unit partner to power unit customer.” “We have a mountain to climb, but climbing it we are and scale its summit we will. That I guarantee.” — Despite past challenges, McLaren's recent successes with Mercedes have been notable. However, the team is considering future strategies. A team insider commented: “Exploring new partnerships or developing our own engine are options on the table.” — The potential for McLaren to follow a path similar to Red Bull Powertrains is being considered. A team member shared: “If a company like Red Bull can do it, why can't McLaren?” — McLaren's current contract with Mercedes extends until 2030, but the team is already planning for the post-2030 era. A source close to the team revealed: “Post-2030 planning is crucial, and all avenues are being explored.” — The team's recent performance issues have highlighted the need for strategic decisions. A McLaren representative stated: “Ensuring long-term success requires careful consideration of all available options.” #landonorris 🇬🇧 #oscarpiastri 🇦🇺 #mclarenf1 #f12026 VIA: [PLANET F1]

@MrDanzy83 @ThisIsFormu1a1 I doubt ourselves or mercedes will cut the deal short...I think mclaren are in the same situation now that red bull were between the renault and honda pu...mercedes or ferrari wouldn't give them an engine cos they knew they'd beat them...eventually red bull made there own pu

@Keithgr09436929 @ThisIsFormu1a1 Yeah but I think this is where we partner with a manufacturer and they we build an engine in partnership. It’s clear that McLaren probably think that Mercedes are not giving them all the information needed for this ruleset and engine. I think we will need to change.

@MrDanzy83 @ThisIsFormu1a1 Very true but it's optimistic for mclaren that there starting to build engines...whilst I think it's unlikely that we'll build engines on our own due to the size of mclaren...we're tiny compared to mercedes, honda, ferrari,Audi and red bull

@Keithgr09436929 @ThisIsFormu1a1 Personally think it’s got to happen and they would partner with a big manufacturer like red bull did wit ford or they go in house and start developing there own engine towards 2030 but start early.
