@OttawaHealth @ottawacity Love this. Another idea - allow parents to sign out water chairs from community centres with pools to use at local splash pads. As seen in RichmondHill, ON. Left my credit card, took chair and ran through splash pad with my wheelchair bound child. Core memories made.

FYI: beach-accessible wheelchairs are available at no cost this summer! They're available daily at Mooney’s Bay Beach, Britannia Beach & Petrie Island Beach from 11:30am-6:30pm on a first-come-first-serve basis until August 27. More info via @ottawacity: ow.ly/bcew50P51FJ

Family is so important and taking time to remember to breathe, prioritize, hug and love deeply can truly make the difference in times of significant stress. I’m also so grateful for @FitzDustin who has been solo parenting for a whole week.

Update. It’s been a rough week. My mom was rushed to ICU Monday. It’s been incredibly hard re-routing my life to be in #HamOnt to be with her. At the same time, adjusting to my new job with high levels of learning and responsibility & multiple essays due for my @SprottSchool MBA.

Our mom Mary passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon. At home, surrounded by her family, as was her wish. An extraordinary woman of deep faith and perseverance. A firm believer that hope never disappoints.
