@yougochante @star_lightw This is actually the BEST reply. Constructive but kind. Sooo much better than ghosting, while the writer wastes time continuing to pitch and wondering where you went. Instead, they get the closure they need and they can then focus on improving their craft.

@star_lightw FT freelancer here. I would appreciate being told my writing wasn't up to par w/ something like "This piece required more editing than I can give regularly. I encourage you to finesse your craft over the next couple of years and pitch again then."

Genuinely curious...as an editor, should I let freelancers know that I would rather not work with them again after going through several disappointing rounds of edits or just slowly stop responding to pitches? Both seem trash so open to other suggestions as well.

Well this is a first--got an e-mail from someone looking for my poem on Leda and the Swan. To my memory, I haven't got one. Turned out this is according to AI! AI just invented the fact of the poem.

It's easier for me to have a WAY of doing things, such as a standard operating procedure when something comes up. But, I don't need to know exactly when those things will happen. #contentclubuk
