🚨MLP TRADE ALERT - Noe Khlif to NJ for Craig Johnson and 💵💵💵🚨 With just 10 hrs left until the trade deadline, @themiamipc and @the5spickleball have pulled off a massive trade. The Miami Pickleball Club is sending Noe Khlif to the New Jersey 5s in exchange for Craig Johnson and cash considerations. The 5s roster now consists of Anna Leigh Waters, Will Howells, Meghan Dizon, Noe Khlif, Zane Navratil, and Mari Humberg. My thoughts on this trade: - This easily makes the 5s the deepest team in terms of bench talent being able to come in and play - The cash considerations had to be very high - at least 6 figures, IMO for a player the caliber of Khlif - I would bet it's much closer to the $200k limit than $100k - It will be very interesting to see how much playing time Navratil and Khlif split - with the 5s paying a lot of cash for Khlif, you would think he may start now - The 5s are still going to have to drop either ALW, Howells, or Navratil at the end of the 2025 campaign, with the current league rules (my understanding) - Mari, Noe, and Dizon can all be kept (my understanding) - Miami must have really liked what they have seen from Yuta Funemizu (I have too) in order to make this trade, plus they probably thought they were not going to make the playoffs this year, so why not make a bunch of cash for next year?

@DoughBoyNico I agree. I've watched the least amount of MLP this year due to this.

We have the same problem in today’s MLP as we do in PPA… We are showing the 1 and 2 seeds on Championship Court vs close matchups of 7 vs 10 etc I’d much rather watch Slice vs Ranchers or Mad Drops vs Miami than see Dallas demoralize the poor NY Hustlers. But what do I know

Adidas would have got more value by just signing @federicostak to a clothing/shoe deal. Leave the paddle out of it. Dude is always decked out in sick clothes out on the courts.

@DoughBoyNico I think that the only team that has any sort of chance, and it’s not great, would be Jorja and Tyra. Let’s say they had to play them 5x in a row, I still think they win 75% of tournaments

I wonder how often ALW and AB would win an event if instead of a balanced draw, they had to play the five best teams in the draw all in a row. I’m still thinking +95%

Match of the Day - Christian Alshon and Etta Tuionetoa move on to Championship Sunday Alshon/Tuionetoa NARROWLY defeat Jorja & JW Johnson, 12-10, 7-11, 12-10. This one had multiple big runs, crazy hands battles, and everything in between! I don't think there could be two more polar opposite strategic mixed doubles teams at the highest levels of pickleball, but both teams balled out. Christian and Etta move on to face ALW and Ben in the finals tomorrow. This will be the 4th match played between these two pairings. Ben and ALW beat Christian and Etta in all 3 previous matches. However, Christian and Etta took a game off them in PPA Kansas City and PPA Las Vegas last year. This one should be a good one tomorrow!
