I can't be the only neuroscientist that, while passing this sign in the UK, felt a burning desire to stop for a pic. @BritishNeuro#patchclamp@ChrisWilms23@Interneuron_Dev (@sheltron30301 I bet you'd like to tell the construction workers outside the bldg to "drive carefully"?!)
@KempyboyKemp No it doesn’t work for everyone, only 40-54% of transplant patients in studies got any immune response (antibodies) from the vaccine. So it does not work for approx 46% of the transplant population.
I am not okay. As an immune suppressed double lung transplant recipient for whom the vaccine doesn’t work, yesterday and today’s news is a living nightmare. Where is the care for the mental health and freedoms of immune suppressed population?
bbc.co.uk/news/business-…. Different companies are taking different approaches, what are you doing in your work place? Have you been involved in any consultation or discussion - and what are you looking forward to / have concerns about?
@anne_churchland@Annalisa4fun I suppose more choice gives more options for more people. It will be interesting to see how it is arranged - maybe live streaming of talks could be good too!
@KempyboyKemp@Annalisa4fun I'll attend both. In discussions with students/postdocs, I am encouraging folks to submit to whichever works better for them. Some can't travel b/c of restrictions or personal reasons, so will do remote. Others want in-person interactions & can travel, so will opt for in person.
