Luttig: Every single lower federal court judge has honored his or her oath to the Constitution of the United States to the letter. In almost every instance, those judges collectively have struck down as unconstitutional essentially every initiative of this president, as the Constitution required them to do. So today, the only people who can save America are the lower federal court judges of the United States, and they are determined to do so simply by honoring their oath in every one of these cases. There are hundreds of them. Every single time Donald Trump opens his mouth or takes an action, the American people are forced to go into court and litigate. That’s the tragic place America finds itself in today. But to complete the thought, at this point it is only the Supreme Court of the United States that is standing in the way of the American people saving their country.

This week Trump is going to try to ram through the Senate his bill to take over state elections so he can rig the vote in his favor. As he becomes historically unpopular, he’s getting desperate. We cannot let this bill pass.

The killing of schoolchildren should shock our conscience and cause us to recoil in horror. A nation whose leaders can so easily shrug off the death of children, no matter the cause, is in need of moral repair. There must be accountability and lessons learned from this tragedy. And we must never forget that Iranian children, too, are children of God.

Got it. There's plenty of funding to send troops into harm’s way, but not to take care of their health afterwards. This is shameful.

On my first day training new cadets, I received secretive orders to teach them to violate the Constitution by entering homes without a judicial warrant. Trump is trying to seize control of our elections because he knows he is going to lose. These are maneuvers of an authoritarian desperate to cling on to power. But we will not be dissuaded. We will not be intimidated. We will stand up for our democracy.

I don’t know about you, but—during this 250th anniversary year—I’m not going to stay quiet while Trump and his regime lies, steals, cheats, abuses, commits crimes, ignores the needs of everyone but the richest among us, trashes our Constitution and imagines their cruelty and hate in any way represent America. This is the year to stand up for American principles and values. I’m betting millions and millions feel the same.

Americans have made it clear: ICE is out of control under Trump. This has to be a sticking point for Dem leadership. Do not give an inch.

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.
