@Nefalcon3 I don’t know of a school district that doesn’t have some type of reserve or fund balance, IE.,, 1x funds that can be used to buy the “required” student supplies.

So my BFF asked me today what would happen if the school won’t supply the items and teachers just said “no” and didn’t supply them either. I honestly had no answer because it never dawned on me not to step in….

I'm just learning that there are multiple school districts around the country that do four-day weeks. Trainings & meetings on Friday. Probably virtual tutoring when it's needed. Someone explain to me why we all aren't doing this? As a teacher & a parent I love it.

The majority of good jobs in any zip code exist in the space beyond a HS diploma but before a 4 year degree. It's time to reimagine HS to reflect reality.

More and more evidence points to the need for systems to examine their approach to preparing students for college and work. CTE pathways are vitally important to our workforce.

@DrBradJohnson I have long argued a 3 year induction with a HQ mentor would save systems lots of money and other resources.

National Commission on Teaching & America’s Future estimate we spend over $7 BILLION a year on teacher turnover/attrition. Imagine if we spent that on multiyear mentoring, flex schedules, Teacher leadership roles, etc. instead of turnover? We could create dynamic school cultures!

This is great for our state. Now we need to support more career and technical education in high schools to meet the labor demands in those industries. College isn’t the only path to a good paying job.
