Congrats to our Varsity Boys basketball teams on their Runner-Up finish in their respective CHSAA Class B City Championship on Friday night Through the hard work and dedication, the program made its first appearance in the @CHSAA_NYC "B" Division championship game in 11 years

Tough loss yesterday for @KennedyHoops_. For most of the game, they were in the driver’s seat, but it wasn’t to be. However, what is to be noted is that the program is moving in the right direction. Through the tutelage of @CoachMatthews34, the program made their first appearance in the @CHSAA_NYC “B” Division championship game in 11 years. S/O to the emergence of the young guards in @Senre_Tuitt & @ariboubert4, as well as the leadership of senior @sebastianj18081, who will definitely make noise at the next level, wherever he goes. It’s safe to say that great things are happening in Somers, New York.

#lostfiles Dec. 16th, 2025. Earlier this season, we made the trip to Cardinal Spellman High School in the Baychester section of The Bronx and got to see the Pilots take on @KennedyHoops_. For awhile, the Gaels have been one of the hardest-working teams in the @CHSAA_NYC B division since their move from the @NYSPHSAA in the fall of 2013. In the 2014-15 season, just their second season in the league, they won the B city championship. These days, they’re still a tough, scrappy team, but are led by head coach @CoachMatthews34, a former Division I player that has also had Division I coaching experience as a graduate assistant at Seton Hall, and also formerly coached in the AA division with Monsignor Scanlan. This year’s team has a solid crew with senior guard @sebastianj18081, the B division’s leading scorer during the regular season, and sophomore guard @Senre_Tuitt, as well as a supporting cast with freshman guard @ariboubert4, sophomore forward @ACumberbatch21 and senior guard Nico Echols. Although they lost a close game on the above-entitled date to Spellman, they made their presence felt in the regular season, as they’re currently 15-11 overall on the season, and made strong performances in the playoffs, as they knocked off Cristo Rey Brooklyn in the quarterfinals last week and then yesterday, knocked off LaSalle Academy in the semifinals. As a result, they are now in the championship game, which is slated to take place this Friday at Rose Hill Gym on the campus of Fordham University in The Bronx and will take on the No. 1 seed in Cathedral Prep out of Elmhurst, Queens. Can the Gaels shock the world and win their first title in 11 years? Find out on Friday night at 6 PM.

Congrats to @KennedyHoops_, as they won their @CHSAA_NYC B semifinal game against LaSalle Academy from the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The squad from Somers, New York (Westchester County) will be advancing to the championship game this coming Friday at Rose Hill Gym on the campus of Rose Hill Gym on the campus of @FordhamNYC in The Bronx and will be competing against the winner of the Regis vs. Cathedra Prep game.
