When I was in the process of converting to Judaism, a Holocaust survivor asked me, "Why would you choose to become Jewish? People hate us." I told her, "Because it's not a choice. I read about the destruction of the Temples and visited Israel to see the only remains of them, the Western Wall. Post October 7, in a time when I can't post one thing about being Jewish without getting tons of threats and horrible, nasty comments, and so many people seem to hate us just for being Jewish, I gotta say: I don't regret my decision in the least. I am more proud than ever to be a Jew. Why? Because I'm home.
