@willo_ian The country is on its arse. Money wasted by crooks voted in who do the opposite of what they get voted in for. This will be a few billion wasted yet they argue about free school meals for kids or supporting deprived communities. Working people going to food banks. Mind boggles!

The greatest Champions League Final ever. I was lucky enough to be there, half-dead by penalties, fully alive by the end. Only feels like yesterday. #YNWA

Plenty of notifications calling me a liar and all manner of things; can’t reply to them all so will leave this here. On Saturday, I made a genuine mistake in how I phrased something. I missed out the word “today” when I said Liverpool and Newcastle were not in talks. There was a lot of information being put out that the deal was done at £130m - it wasn’t. If it was, Liverpool would have announced it then. There has been confidence for a few weeks that things were moving in the right direction. But, at that time, they couldn’t make any guarantees and that had to be reflected. If I made appear that the deal was off, that simply wasn’t the intention and it was my mistake. I’ll apologise again.

@downeytrev New balance produced the best kits we’ve had by far. Adidias always generic shit across their teams. Don’t know why people get so hyped about their kits, shite!!

Hate to piss on your collective adidas chips but the new home kit is the most generic, bog-standard, inspiration-free thing I’ve ever seen. Exactly like the base kit used by amateur teams everywhere. And no, I couldn’t give a fuck if you think my old man opinion doesn’t matter.

@eddiegibbs It’s hard for him now, he’s just not quite at the level to demand a starting place. Whether that be through lack of games, injuries etc. The facts remain the same. Almost there but not quite and I’d love him to stay but it could be damaging his growth if he doesn’t get games now

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Let Harvey Find the Clarity He Deserves A footballer’s career is too short to be a maybe. Harvey Elliott has ability, intelligence and drive, but at #LFC, he remains undefined. Not quite a winger, not quite a midfielder, not the creative fulcrum either. He flickers across roles, admired but never fully relied upon. This summer, he was outstanding for England’s U21s, player of the tournament, a standout in a side full of burgeoning talent. He showed maturity, invention and leadership. But there are levels to this. International youth success is not a final answer, it’s a question of what comes next. And at Liverpool, the next step looks crowded. He’s 22 now and still waiting to be central to anything. The team around him is sharpening, shaped for precision, and Elliott’s in-between qualities no longer suit. He’s done little wrong, but this is not about wrongdoing. It’s about trajectory. Staying would mean treading water. Sell him while his value is high, not out of haste but of respect; for his talent, his career, and the standards of the club. He needs regular football, responsibility, the rhythm of playing where he is essential. That will not be here. Let him start again, somewhere he is not a question. Let him become what he clearly can be, just not at this club, not in this shape, not in this moment.

🇸🇪 Eyes on Isak: Liverpool’s Next Move Could Redefine the Window Frimpong, Mamardashvili, Wirtz and now Kerkez; not just quality, but cohesion. Not a spree, but a strategy. This is a club that once stood accused of resting after glory. Now, they rebuild from the summit. Speak to right people and one thing becomes abundantly clear, Liverpool's window is not even close to being closed. Newcastle fans are openly in denial as Alexander Isak’s name dances on the edge of reality and dream. Admired deeply by Liverpool’s hierarchy, known to fit Slot’s tactical playbook, and long-revered by Michael Edwards. Newcastle are supposedly 'not inviting bids', but admiration alone in this case speaks volumes. Liverpool only admire players they’ve studied, prepared for, and placed on the board. Should Núñez depart, which is now as much about timing as suitability, the domino falls. Isak is an ideal. A forward of rare balance: technical elegance, movement sharp as a blade, and a calm that unsettles defenders more than chaos ever could. If there's one player who turns a very good window into one that history remembers, it is him. But Liverpool will not be held hostage. They will not pay fantasy fees, nor shatter their wage balance to win headlines. If they move for #Isak, it will be on their terms, not Newcastle’s. The club’s model is clear: sustainability with teeth. Be under no illusions, #LFC are the bigger fish in this pond. This isn’t just a show of strength, it’s a quiet warning. A club that used to whisper of transition now moves with the assured stride of one aiming to reign again, not for one season, but for many. Contrary to mainstream media reports, here @AnfieldIndex we've been told the clubs are 'at the table'. It's not yet known whether the photos may soon show Isak in red. But the real picture is larger: Liverpool, dangerous again, eyes wide open, weapons drawn.

20 years since #istanbul. Anyone who was there knows nothing will ever beat that day & night. Like being on your highest high then lowest low. Then winning the lottery. Then being lost in foreign streets, not knowing what to do or say. A Lifetime Memory. A Glorious Moment in time

This lad can play football. Wholly appropriate on the day Liverpool were crowned champions, this Prince of a midfielder should dazzle once again.

@willo_ian I’d be happy for him to go if he done it the right way and got the club money back. He knows how the club operates with selling to buy but he’s happily dragged this on not signing knowing he wanted to go to Madrid All this it means more and shushing fans has made it even worse

Trent going, arsed. He won't be the golden boy in Madrid, the local darling. That's his lookout. The lad has trouble defending, unbelievable going forward but the likes of Lamal will tear him up and he'll be leathered for it. Got away with an awful lot here cos he's a local lad.

@SimonBrundish @premierleague Talking shite, we were decimated with injuries last year. Arsenal weren’t. Now it’s opposite. Just enjoy the ride, whoever wins will deserve it as the league doesn’t lie, if it’s Liverpool so be it. Too many of you twitter managers scaremongering or guessing results of others.

Liverpool currently have 1 point more than after 26 @premierleague games last season These same lads We went on to get 22 points from 12 games That gets us to 83 Arsenal would need 30 from 13 to match they got 34 last season This isn’t about “competing with City”

@AdamCatterall Clear win for Usyk. 3 clear rounds for Tyson and other than that Usyk dominated the rounds with exception to 1 or 2 which were tight. So disappointed in Tysons response. Tysons corner was so confusing, why are 3 of them giving instructions. Trainers was being talked over.
