Fly Rod Guides Freezing? I use Vaseline, dip rod into water, use forceps and pock/prod, and use cooking spray, WD40 spray-What do you use?

Fly fishing in Cheeseman Canyon remains good and worth the hike. There have been consistent midge hatches periodically throughout the day.

Light tippets are usually more productive in winter. Flies are small and water is clear. I use 6X for trout fishing.

Look for rises. Occasionally trout will rise during the winter, almost always to small midges or mayflies.
