Featured in #StanAndOllie is the rarely seen #OliverHardy film #Zenobia, which he made for #HalRoach Studios in 1939 while #StanLaurel was involved in a contract dispute. His co-star was fellow silent star #HarryLangdon, whose #deadpan persona never quite gelled with the talkies.

@BruceMirken Like the boys themselves, they rely on each other's performances to achieve their effect. There's a lovely line towards the end from Stan: "When you watch our movies, it was just the two of us. All we had was each other." Says it all.

#StanAndOllie is terrific. #JohnCReilly deserves the #GoldenGlobe nomination for his mastery of that #OliverHardy withering look. #SteveCoogan's #StanLaurel is almost as good, and the film brings laughter and tears in equal measure. Worth going to the cinema to see? "It sure is."
