WATCH — @SenatorWarnock: “ICE has more funding than the Marines. And Republicans are saying ‘if you don’t give this overgrown paramilitary force of masked agents more money, we’re going to leave TSA workers unpaid.’” 🤔

Tommy Lloyd on the North Carolina opening 👀
"I already have one of the best jobs in the country. One thing we talk about all the time is the ability to have full focus and be present in the moment... I think we have a chance to advance in this tournament. This team deserves my full focus. There is not one thing that's gonna knock me off that path"

I'm really shocked the NYT would publish anything as credulous and wide-eyed as this. The @universityofky must be very happy. It's kind of different from the video President Capilouto put out last week. "Scrooge McDuck" money?

You're catching heat because you’re seen as representing the fans’ collective voice.
Even when you're just lending a platform for others to say what a lot of people are already thinking, you catch the heat.
It’s a radio show, not a PR departmenr, hearing different perspectives, good and bad, is kind of the whole point.
That being said, like with any fanbase, some people do go too far with the players and use the excuse of them getting paid now.
Qdoba employees get paid too, but I don't hunt them down on social media and berate them if they forget my guac, know what I'm saying.
Coaches are fair game though. Lol

@McFootballguy @therandomsec @On3 Ah. Football. My bad I thought you meant Kentucky and Billy Gillispie so I was super confused. Didnt think about football. Good solid point, although Bill was newly creepy and didn't get super creepy until after the hire, maybe?
English

According to @on3 3 SEC coaches are very high on the UNC hot board.
Mark Byington, Nate Oats, and Todd Golden.
Do you think any of these guys will get the call, and if so, would they leave?

English

@McFootballguy @therandomsec @On3 UNC. We are talking about UNC *not* Kentucky.
UNC didn't hire "Bill". UNC has always stayed within the UNC family, until now.
I'm a Kentucky fan, we generally don't give a shit about baggage as long as they can coach. I'd happily take Golden as a coach. 🤷🏼♀️
English

@PalmBeach2024 @gwizzy12 I did want him at Kentucky, but I'm talking about UNC and their "family only" mentality. I just don't see them going for Golden as their first "outside" hire. Just my opinion and definitely not a dig at Golden. He's a good coach, obviously.

@bigbluenutjob @KySportsRadio Thing was, Barnhart just gave up after Hurley and Drew (who was a horrible pick also) .. he didn't even go for Golden who was an obvious up and comer
English

@KentuckYCat73 @gwizzy12 You keep posting this/ apparently you want him at Kentucky

I'm in healthcare analytics.
I know UK HealthCare used a holding company structure to acquire two major community hospitals King's Daughters Medical Center and St. Claire w/both hospital systems residing in similarly structured holding companies that ultimately report to the University and its Board of Trustees.
According to what I've heard both systems in that holding company model experienced growth in jobs, stronger bottom lines, and othrr improvements and expansion.
But how they translate that to the same results with Athletics, I do not know.

Article is now free
Justin Williams@Williams_Justin
A $22 mil MBB NIL budget. A massive FB coaching buyout. A $141 mil loan. An athletic department that is now an LLC. What's going on at Kentucky? Short answer: It wants to be a top spender in college sports. Longer answer is free to read via @TheAthletic. nytimes.com/athletic/71451…
English

@Cincitucky1 I wish we'd leave the players alone, but I'm sorry, I can't stop criticizing horrible coaching decisions.
English

@Acyn Trump is going to pre-emptively pardon his whole cabinet.
English

Why would I be hurt? We didn't even interview Golden. (At the time I said we should have but our AD is an idiot)
We'll see if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. Like I said, I don't think the 1st coach that UNC goes for that is outside their "family" is going to be someone that is a moral gamble. It will be a straight lace, like Lloyd, Otz, or Byington.
But if it is Golden, I'll be so happy for Florida since you all really seem to want to be rid of him. 🤷🏼♀️
English

I mean, if I were Florida I'd be glad that UNC probably won't interview Golden.
I could be wrong, but UNC is a pretty conservative admin and I don't think the 1st coach they go to that is outside their family would be an (alleged) stalker. If you don't think that isn't going to raise some eyebrows you're being naive.
English

@Burke_Franklin_ Jasper needs a coach that is capable of developing players.
I hate how he was treated all year, he seemed to really love this school. Some of our fans are just the worst. I hope wherever he goes he absolutely knocks it out of the park.
Thank you to the Johnson family.
English

@JonRothstein TJ Otzelberger, Mark Byington, Ben McCollum...
Maybe Oats.
I could see Flynn Clayman being an option if they strike out with top picks but I doubt UNC will strike out with more than 2.
English

Sources: North Carolina will do an open search and plans for the first time, to actively pursue candidates outside of the Tar Heels' family.
A new dawn in Chapel Hill.
Jon Rothstein@JonRothstein
Sources: Hubert Davis will not return as North Carolina's head coach.
English

@rarerookies For days.
Add Ben McCollum to the list and maybe Flynn Clayman if they strike out with their top pitches.
