Together with my colleague, the Principal Secretary for Shipping and Maritime Affairs, Mr. Aden Abdi Millah @ps_adenmillah, we held a Strategic Engagement Forum with Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) @KCBInKenya led by the General Manager, Mr. David Nyamu,to discuss sector financing and partnership opportunities in the blue economy and maritime sectors. The engagement highlighted a strong pipeline of investment opportunities across fisheries and aquaculture, ports and logistics, shipbuilding and repair, marine cruise tourism, and enabling infrastructure and technology that can drive sustainable and inclusive growth. We agreed to continue working closely with KCB and other financial partners to unlock capital, create decent jobs, and uplift coastal and riparian communities while safeguarding our marine and freshwater ecosystems.

The engagement focused on adoption of durable, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable cage technologies to enhance fish production and improve the livelihoods of fish farmers.#KFMA2026.

The CEO Kenya Fish Marketing Authority, Mr. Charles Ogwang held a consultative meeting with a team from DOSHI water on 6th February, 2026 at KFMA head office on partnership on promotion of modern fish cage construction materials in support of sustainable fisheries.

The discussion also focused on the critical challenges faced by artisanal fishers and the mandate of the KFMA in spearheading fish marketing and capacity building for fishers communities.

The insurance solution aims to de-risk small-scale fisherfolk against climate volatility while enhancing the long-term sustainability of marine resources.
