I believe 247sports is mainly looking at the upper class man. Like I tell my son. Don’t pay attention to rankings use it as fuel to make a statement. And I know Alcoa picked up Heatherly and the guy from Webb. And then was just told the other day they picked up another TE transfer. It’s a solid TE group going to be exciting seeing how well they work together.

East Tennessee Top 10 Tight Ends (2026-27) “Projecting tight ends for the 2026-27 East Tennessee high school football season is more difficult than quarterback or offensive line because many teams use hybrid H-backs and don’t feature the position heavily in the passing game. This ranking weighs college recruiting interest, athletic traits, production, blocking ability, positional versatility, projected role, and impact on winning rather than just receiving statistics” 1. Aaron Heatherly (Alcoa) — Class of 2027 The transfer from Farragut immediately becomes the standard for East Tennessee tight ends. At approximately 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, Heatherly possesses the frame college coaches covet while bringing true two-way value as both a receiving threat and an edge blocker. In Alcoa’s offense, he projects as a matchup nightmare working alongside QB Thomas Manu and an explosive receiving corps. His ability to seal the edge in the run game while stretching defenses vertically makes him the region’s most complete tight end entering the season. Recruiting attention continues to build as his physical development catches up with his athletic upside. 2. Antwan Jackson (White Station) — Class of 2027 Although nationally known as an elite defensive prospect, Jackson’s offensive snaps at tight end showcase rare athleticism for a player with SEC-caliber size. His combination of length, explosiveness, and physicality would make him one of Tennessee’s most dangerous offensive weapons if utilized extensively. Even if tight end isn’t his primary position, his ceiling at the position is enormous. 3. Brody Malone (Greeneville) — Class of 2027 Malone has developed into one of Northeast Tennessee’s most dependable all-around tight ends. He consistently impacts games as an in-line blocker while possessing reliable hands and the toughness to work the middle of the field. His versatility allows Greeneville to stay balanced offensively. 4. Brayden Reed (Anderson County) — Class of 2028 One of the youngest players on this list but already flashing major upside. Reed combines excellent size with fluid movement skills and projects as a high-level college prospect if his development continues. His best football is still ahead of him. 5. Kaden Bales (Sevier County) — Class of 2027 A physical player who thrives in the run game. Bales creates movement at the point of attack and has steadily improved as a receiver. His toughness and consistency make him one of the safest projections in East Tennessee. 6. Mason Hensley (Knox Central) — Class of 2027 A true hybrid weapon capable of lining up attached to the formation or flexed into the slot. His athletic ability creates mismatches against linebackers while still offering enough size to contribute as a blocker. 7. Eli Russell (Science Hill) — Class of 2027 Russell’s combination of size and body control makes him an attractive red-zone target. He continues improving as a blocker, and another productive season could significantly raise his recruiting profile. 8. Carson Carter (Powell) — Class of 2028 One of the better young developmental tight ends in East Tennessee. Carter possesses the frame to continue adding strength while maintaining athleticism. His upside is extremely intriguing. 9. Luke Jenkins (Maryville) — Class of 2027 Maryville traditionally asks its tight ends to do everything, and Jenkins fits that mold. He blocks well, understands leverage, and has dependable hands in play-action concepts. His value often goes beyond the stat sheet. 10. Noah Gentry (West Ridge) — Class of 2027 Rounds out the list because of his versatility and steady production. Gentry consistently contributes as both a receiver and blocker while giving his offense flexibility in multiple formations. (247sports.com)

9. Ethan Farhat, Maryville High (Farragut Transfer) (Senior, Class of 2027)
Big-play slot receiver with Prep Redzone ranking and breakout potential. Go-to threat upside in Farragut’s offense and woo be a major key at his new program at Maryville; athleticism and playmaking flashes make him a riser. 10. Bryson Headrick, Sevierville (Senior, Class of 2027)
Massive production with 1,116 yards and 17 TDs in 2025—red-zone and big-play threat. High TD total reflects finishing ability. Strong volume in East TN competition earns the nod over some lower-production peers. Honorable Mentions (just outside top 10, strong cases via stats/traits/local buzz): • Trevor Kibler, Tellico Plains — School-record 12 TD receptions; reliable red-zone weapon. • Branson Newberry, Oak Ridge — Speed and route-running; bigger role expected after transfer. • Nick Rivers, Hardin Valley — Slot big-play ability and PRZ recognition. • Others with solid 2025 numbers or traits: players from Eagleton/Farragut depth or smaller programs showing consistency. Rising Stars (Class of 2028/younger with upside) East TN has depth behind the seniors. Watch sophomores/juniors in powerhouse programs (Alcoa, Powell, Maryville, Hardin Valley, Farragut) who are flashing in spring/7v7 or earning early offers/buzz. Specific names are less publicized than the 2027 group, but the pipeline is strong—expect more Prep Redzone or local mentions as the season approaches. Programs like Alcoa (tornado brand) and Knoxville Catholic often develop young talent quickly. Notes/Caveats: Rankings are subjective blends—production favors volume stats, while recruiting sites weigh traits/film/school level more. Some smaller-school players (e.g., Unicoi, GPHS, Tellico) post eye-popping numbers against lesser competition but still show translatable skills. Tri-Cities (Johnson City/Kingsport) area had fewer dominant returning WR names in available previews compared to Knoxville metro. Things can shift with spring/summer developments, injuries, or QB play. Jamir Dean stands out as the clear headliner for East TN and should draw significant attention. 🚨🚨 Top 10 Wide Receivers in East Tennessee for the 2026 (26/27) TSSAA Season East Tennessee’s wide receiver talent (primarily Knoxville metro area schools like Alcoa, Powell, Maryville, Hardin Valley, Farragut, Heritage, plus surrounding programs in Sevier, Blount, Anderson, and Unicoi counties) is strong and deep for the 2026 season. Most top players are Class of 2027 (seniors in fall 2026). Rankings blend 2025 junior/sophomore production (yards, TDs, efficiency), recruiting evaluations (Prep Redzone TN, 247Sports, local media), physical traits (speed, separation, hands, size/YAC), film/scouting notes, and projected 2026 impact (team context, QB play, competition level). Larger-school players (e.g., Alcoa, Powell, Maryville) often face tougher defenses, boosting their value. Smaller-school standouts earn spots via elite stats and traits. Data draws from Knox News previews, Prep Redzone TN 2027 WR breakdowns, MaxPreps leaders, and recruiting profiles. 1. Jamir Dean, Alcoa (Senior, Class of 2027)
Clear No. 1. As a junior he posted 53 catches, 1,141 yards, 16 TDs, leading Alcoa’s attack. Elite separating speed, natural athleticism, ball skills, and big-play ability on film. One of Tennessee’s highest-rated prospects (top ~30 overall in state per Prep Redzone; 4-star level with P4 interest/commitment, previously linked to Georgia). Focal point of a strong program—expect another monster year and heavy college attention. 2. Zi (DeZion) Jackson, Powell (Senior, Class of 2027)
Explosive, one of the fastest WRs in the state. Broke Powell’s single-season receiving record as a junior with 1,212 yards and 13 TDs. Dynamic after the catch, creates separation quickly, and turns short gains into scores. Prep Redzone ranks him as a top-10 TN WR prospect (~top 75 overall). Huge YAC threat and big-play maker for Powell’s offense. 3. Jadyn Dehart, Hardin Valley (Senior, Class of 2027)
Explosive slot specialist with outstanding separation and athletic flashes. Hidden gem per scouting reports; ranked in TN’s top ~150 overall by Prep Redzone. Creates consistently and has big-play ability. Ready for a featured role in Knox County. 4. Noel Meza-Flores, Eagleton (Senior, Class of 2027)
Physical 6’3”, 190 lb target with strong hands, ball skills, and after-catch production. Prep Redzone ranks him similarly to Dehart (~top 150 TN). Size advantage in contested situations; part of a high-flying offense that should feed him opportunities. 5. Colton Foust, Maryville (Senior, Class of 2027)
Reliable slot option with speed, separation, and excellent hands in traffic. Key returning target for Maryville’s potent attack (strong local media mention). Prep Redzone notes his athleticism despite size; consistent producer who elevates in big games. 6. Ethan Bryant, Heritage (Senior, Class of 2027)
Strong hands and vertical threat; highlighted in Knoxville-area previews for production and mismatch potential. Good athleticism and ability to win on deep balls or in red zone. Solid contributor ready for a bigger role. 7. Avery Hatcher, Unicoi County (Senior, Class of 2027)
Elite production: 1,054 yards and 14 TDs in 2025. Even in a smaller classification, the volume and efficiency stand out. Playmaking ability and big-play traits earn him a spot; scouting notes him as one to watch. 8. Jackson Savarese, Gatlinburg-Pittman (Senior, Class of 2027)
Quick feet, speed, and consistency finding space as a slot guy. Strong 2025 numbers (~900+ yards) and scouting praise for shifty play. Reliable target who can stretch the field or work underneath. (247sports.com)
