🚨⌚️ The new 8 second rule was implemented during the Ulsan vs Mamelodi Sundowns match at the Club World Cup.... Goalkeeper Ronwen Williams held the ball for more than 8 seconds, therefore a corner kick was given to the opposition team.

@MJHassam167 @eurofootcom Within new IFAB laws and part of the more general explanation, it states that the referee will award the corner kick on the side closest to where the goalkeeper was when he/she penalised….

@eurofootcom An interesting question is how does the ref choose which side the corner is to be taken from? Or can the attacking team choose?
