@WalterMaselli1 Yes got to win games when you get this kind of start
English

@PigTownSports Can't blame all on him but need a scapegoat. Fundamentals just not important to Orioles
English

@mvpfloorservice @TheOneCalledJai Some of that I agree with but I think you over value Mayo. Does not hit RHP at all which is why he doesn't play. Bottom line is Oriole player development is falling way short
English

Go back and look at the lineups when they were on the hottest run of the season from the end of May until going to Toronto. And then get back to me.
Also 2nd best hitter in baseball vs LHP. That’s at 24 with barely 400 ABs if he’s given the chance and succeeds to hit RHP he’s an All Star. But he gets the Stowers treatment and will end up being an All Star elsewhere. Reason the Sox, Marlins and Nats have passed us is they play their top prospects now it’s clicking. We trade the wrong ones and keep guys like HK.
English

2 runners reach in an inning for a change with nobody out…
The 3 tying runs at the plate proceed to put together one feeble AB after the next.
This team is charcoal.
#Birdland
English

@mvpfloorservice @TheOneCalledJai What is your obsession with Mayo? You know he is hitting 196
English

All while Mayo watched from the dugout again. A guy we’ve seen change the game with one swing. Ward is a bum who I can’t even remember the last time he came through w/ runners on. But he walks. And is slow and sucks at defense. Less HRs and RBIs than both Mayo and JJ with 100+ more ABs. Trade this bum while he has some value. Beavers coming back too. Blaze should be in the corner OF and Mayo at 3rd. Weird how we start losing when Mayo stops playing too.

@OriolesStatist1 Elias refusal to hire an experienced manager is very real!
English

Ralistically:
19 - Adley is a good pick & they got Gunnar (another top 5 player in the draft in rd 2)
20 - unfortunate health, but got 3 major leaguers with 5 picks
21 - fine
22 - absurd to call a 22 yr old major leaguer a bust
23 - good so far
24 - bust
25 - good so far
Joey@jfcatcher23
Please take a look at Elias’s first picks in each of his drafts. It is VERY clear he is absolutely terrible at drafting and developing top tier talent
English

@CreedWillems @WalterMaselli1 Mattingly, Asmus, Girardi, there were options. With you on Buck though. Problem is none of them are going to let Elias take control.
English

@WalterMaselli1 There just weren’t other options and when I brought up Showalter people went loco. I still think he was the best choice and don’t put much if any of the disappointment on his shoulders
English

@WalterMaselli1 I was one of those guys who wanted experience. I feel like this is the root of our fundamental and inconsistent issues. 3 hires by Elias all 1st time managers, wonder why?
English

@Drew_Pellman @MElias @sigmejdal all boils down to the GM refusing to hire an experienced manager in my opinion
English

Just another atrocious offensive performance from the analytically-led team fielded by @MElias and @sigmejdal.
Add in another ridiculous bullpen management game from Craig (don’t call him Brandon Hyde) Albernaz.
In other words, typical #Orioles with their daily dose of suck.
English

@PigTownSports The whole organization is inconsistent. We can't even field a consistent lineup. When the team is managed that was this is what follows.
English

@CatchThat17 @FowlBallTalk Respect Luke but this is not the manager this team needed.
English

@KevinKlimko @FowlBallTalk I see ur perspective Big Kev, the last 2 weeks have been a different communication style than the first 2 moths with Albernaz. But his strengths is communication & strategy. He’s a 1st yr mgr & will make mistakes. Players on this team know he’s not going anywhere. Per ur point.

English

Albernaz isn’t the problem.
You were mad when Hyde danced around questions in interviews……
You were mad Hyde wasn’t “tearing the guys a new one” or showing emotion…..
You said Hyde let the players do what they wanted…..
Albernaz is saying what is on his mind in interviews, raw and un cut.
If what the reports said is true, Albernaz was making an example out of Sam, (like you complained Hyde wasn’t)
The players seem to LOVE the guy. It’s visible. It was never visible with Hyde.

English

@PaulValleIII I have been against Alby since he was hired. It was a terrible hire! This team should be in win now mode but the GM hires inexperienced puppets as managers. 3 in a row! Hire an experienced manager and see if things like fundamentals and a consistent lineup change
English

@CatchThat17 @FowlBallTalk Sorry Luke don't see it. When you don't defend your players and call them out in the media players won't respect you. When you have no experience or credibility players don't respect you. He does what Mike tells him to and the players know it!
English

@KevinKlimko @FowlBallTalk Players like playing for him. The next game you watch, when the TV cameras catch it, pay close attention to when a player fails he is always supportive. He knows this team is putting in the work. Unfortunately, they don’t succeed all the time.
English

@FowlBallTalk It's an opinion and I don't see players laughing with him. I think he is in over his head and suspect the players feel the same. The Orioles have zero baseball IQ, doesn't that come from the manager? This team needed an experienced manager, the GM refused to hire one.
English

Do you have any evidence to support your statement?
Every time the camera is on him, he’s got his arm around a player or a player is messing with him, smiling and laughing.
Any time a player has been interviewed about him, they sing his praises. Past players and current.
He was the most vouched for coaching hire in the league with tons of vouches from players.
English

@baltimoresun Nothing more than a puppet for Elias and his computer. Terrible hire, 3 managers hired by Elias and none with experience. Keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result.
English

Baltimore Sun sports columnist Josh Tolentino writes that Craig Albernaz has not lost the Orioles’ clubhouse. But the first-year manager is indeed testing the patience of an increasingly restless fanbase, judging both the club’s uneven play and the blunt words he uses to explain it all.

Is Alby preparing a sympathy gift for Marinaccio and Stammen?
Andy Kostka@afkostka
After plunking Gunnar Henderson in the ninth inning of Saturday's game, Padres right-hander Ron Marinaccio has been suspended three games and fined, MLB announces. San Diego manager Craig Stammen was fined and suspended one game. Marinaccio appealed the suspension
English

It’s baseball I agree throwing at Gunnar is fine. But you did miss not once but twice. Problem is @CraigAlbernaz is just another guy you hire for a rebuild. Inexperienced 1st time young manager. With this group we are not rebuilding. @MElias is a control freak threatened by guys who know more about baseball. Orioles need actual baseball guys with big league experience and until that happens we are a .500 team. Elias shouldn’t survive this season. New GM should hire new manager too. The rebuild needs to be with management not players.
He was completely wrong on Basallo too. When Adley can’t stay healthy and at 28 gets coddled. If he can’t catch 4-5 times a week trade him for a pitcher. Basallo will be the better player. Then call up Creed and it opens the DH spot too. #Orioles
