I think this is going to be a continuing slippery slope for head coaches in CFB because in a lot of cases they get to control the purse strings as opposed to NFL coaches who leave that up to front office personnel. Front office personnel in CFB seem to work for the head coach. PG did nothing a large number of coaches are doing and continue to do. This appears to be the norm. I believe when coaches feel the heat to land certain players from fan bases, media, etc. with no real buffer, this will continue to happen more and more.

There is always a business/ financial angle to just about any story. My favorite part of the Dabo presser was when they asked Luke Ferrelli to give them his text messages and he said via his agent ‘ if you give me another $1,000,000’ I will give you everything and help you turn them in. Clemson declined. Ferrelli then left. Lesson- you don’t trade assets for moral or abstract victories. You can achieve both is the hope. But it’s not a trade. You trade assets for economics. Full stop. Luke has a bright future in business !
