Hi @askryanair, After missing my fathers funeral because you cancelled a flight and waiting more than 6 months, when might I expect you to bother compensating me with what you are legally required to? Would love to know.
Doesn't work with a keyboard instead of a mouse, animation that can't be paused or stopped, not available on mobile devices. Probably other issues. Please fix this @DesignCouncil
@designcouncil@accessibleweb Just highlights the problem with automated testing tools. They have their place in your approach to a11y but they aren't the whole solution.
@accessibleweb We know how important it is to design accessibly and for all types of people. We had checked the website for accessibility against WCAG 2.1. Our site had scored well, however not as highly as we should have demanded.
@Access_Rhodes Never been sure what the point of 'partial' compliance was. I flagged this at the original policy consultation (iirc) and have continually been perplexed by it. It is either 'met' or 'not met'.
We are expanding the accessibility team in Scottish Government 🎆. New post for an accessibility researcher is currently live with a closing date of 30th Mar applications.work-for-scotland.org/pages/job_sear…
@FrankElavsky In general I agree that there is much more to deal with. My suspicion is colour blindness is a focus as it is easy to demonstrate and easy to fix. If we could get chart creators to do even this one simple thing it would be a help as the mods do help others not just colour blind.
@LeonieWatson Agree, sadly seen instances where research was effectively done with fake people. I think there are types of research that lead to such terms: testing with end users, testing with specialist assistive tech users or validating against previous research expressed using personas.
@hrobertking@LeonieWatson If there are “normals” that are test participants, are those who are not participants not normal? “Normals” is such a dreadful term when applied to people.
@LeonieWatson In many of the organizations I've worked with they've said to not just test with "normal people" or "normals"...I don't think that's better.
Attending the @scotlandis Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Really good to be part of something so positive. Looking forward to seeing some initiatives coming out of this!
