The cost of renewables is being largely hidden in network costs, the fraud of 'gold plating' is actually just the red-herring for 'making the grid able to withstand the realities of intermittent renewables', and these network costs are most of the difference between the wholesale electricity price, and the retail, and that's why posts like yours are lies. The wholesale price can go down because it doesn't include the externalities, the network costs. Looks great on a spreadsheet, but doesn't help bills.
