Genuinely excited for the upcoming patch for the first time in a while. With this many changes, there will almost certainly be issues, but solid attempts have been made to address my biggest pain points of the set at the moment: econ augments, reroll, and rigid comp conditions

@Dishsoaptft Sure, I agree that the surrounding board is trash, and I probably could have taken a better screenshot example later in the game once I put together a better board, but it’s also far harder to put together a decent board on 7 when 4-5 total odds are at 11%.

Case in point for my last post: If a fully itemized 3 star 3 cost is only doing 2k more damage than an un-upgraded 4 cost, there is something critically wrong with how 3 costs are balanced/designed relative to higher cost units. I lost this fight btw

@LastKardax Board is questionable, but if you don’t have access to Swain/5 costs, how would you significantly improve this board in this state. Liss only showed up by the time I already lost to Lux 1 and you can’t just “toss in” a legendary if you never see one on 7

@Kevinramen Mostly Agree, The 3 Cost space has kind of lost its carry identity in recent sets. I think there should be a stronger emphasis on buffing up the 3 Star 3 Cost Carries to slightly outperform 2 Star itemized 4 costs and underperformed 2 star 5 Costs. Your board is questionable

@RyKoTFT Of those traits, they have +1 damage trait on me. Moreover if you’re on 7, you’re essentially locked out of the high cost unit that are pre-requisites for decent boards this set. I don’t think an arcanist difference somehow trumps a 27 to 4 gold difference

@Kevinramen I agree overall but disagree in this particular scenario: Piltover here does 0 for Zoe’s dmg & she has only invoker active. Lux has probably 7 demacia, invoker and arcanist active, it’s all fine. + ur Zoe’s getting stunned prolly too

This is more so the case with carries, and less so with tanks. It is something that you especially start to notice when trying to play for a 3* 3 cost carry though

Not sure these 3 cost odds address what I think is the bigger issue with 3 cost reroll currently: 3 costs are just weak. There has never been a point this set where I would prefer a 3* 3 cost over a 2* 5 cost, and barely over a 2* 4 cost. Just not worth the investment.

Broken record here, but this 3* 4 cost issue would be a lot less prevalent if there wasn't a single click button that gave you 12 gold+a 2 star 4 cost, or 10 rolls and 2 dupes, etc etc. If I see a single 3* 4 cost get nerfed before an econ augment change, I'm gonna lose it

@JukeYouTFT I'll take someone being an item up/closer to BIS than someone being level 10 on 5-1 any day. If augments are gonna stay as central as they are, I prefer the option that requires some knowledge of unit interaction over "here's more money"

@Kevinramen I mean if you removed econ augments then it just becomes whether or not you get item augment. Not sure if there's ever a world where different categories of augments are balanced relative to each other.

My dislike of econ augs comes down to this: How econ is managed (especially early/mid) SHOULD be a key decision making avenue. When it’s dumbed down to “Did you get an econ augment”, it doesn’t sit right to me, and it de-emphasizes things like streaking/shop management.

@Triplemoonnstre In an ideal world, I agree. Don't think the current state of the game adheres to that. No econ augment = stuck being unable to push levels. If you roll, you're so behind on econ/tempo compared to the rest of the lobby mid to late game, so you have to pray you natural something.

Not sure if it’s an unpopular opinion, but TFT should go back to loss streak traits that require a win to cashout. I 100% prefer the “counterplay” to a 2-1 cashout trait to be playing a strong board over praying someone in the lobby is open forting.

@ClementKChu I understand the desire to keep some form of these around - I will admit that they are fun. If they are kept in, I’d prefer a push towards transformative, lateral strength adjustments instead of “exodia if you have x condition, useless if you don’t”

Learnings article brought up a gripe I’ve had for a while: artifacts making units unclickable w/o them. Artifact choice is a ~1 decision per game mechanic. Shops are a 1+ decision per TURN mechanic. I’d prefer the latter dictate what I should play more often than the former.
