Even though I knew it was coming, still not a nice feeling opening the email this afternoon. After more than 30 years doing a job I love, it’s tough to know it could be about to come to an end. Thoughts with all my colleagues in the same boat.

More than 70 journalists working for Reach Plc in Wales are at risk of redundancy, staff were informed today. The NUJ says it's over half the workforce at papers like the Western Mail and digital services including Wales Online.

The furlough top up for our colleagues to 100% of pay costs us £500,000 a week, not £500,000 a month as it says in today’s Sunday Times. It’s worth every penny to help our colleagues and their families through some tough weeks.
