@dancefeverqueen @iambri_97 It wasn’t just the uni it was also just my family situation made in basically impossible. I suppose my overarching point is that I wish education was more accessible for working class people.

@dancefeverqueen @iambri_97 I should point out that I’m not saying ‘it is exclusively for middle class people.’ Just that generally the opportunities are only available, or are certainly far more heavily weighted in favour of those that are. It wasn’t something that was financially feasible for me.

@KeyChikorita @iambri_97 My parents have 0 income. I entirely live off of maintenance loan and the grants I get FOR being a poor student. My year abroad was compulsory, I only got £3k student loan because I did a part-time work placement, and it would've been a lot easier if I had Erasmus funding.

@RdRoth @azure_dragon_xm @sp4rkl3jumpr0p3 I am beyond certain that the prolific right leaning economists of the 20th century did not specifically document that CEOs must be paid more than 10x their cleaners otherwise there will be no jobs. Most countries, in fact broadly all countries with CEOs are not communist.

@maxcownie_ @misanthropeyrk If it’s not worth it for them why is it worth it for the country? Why should taxpayers money be going to subsidise Tesco? They operate in this country and are given a large amount of political influence in return they rip the treasury off. It’s not value for money.

@misanthropeyrk I said the equivalent. That’s about £25 an hour. £250 an hour for a CEO. It’s not worth it for them. Also, of course the wage bill would change🤣 it’s not a direct shift.

The first is ridiculous. Tesco employee could earn £14 an hour and you want the CEO to work for £140 an hour🤣 Then get taxed half. Nah😂
